I did a personal interview with Graham Findley from 3G Engergy of Ottawa.

"Getting involved is easy – first, go to the FIT review OPA website and answer the survey (2yearFITreview@ontario.ca), stating your wish to have more renewable energy on the grid, plus more renewable energy ideas to be allowed (geothermal, storage, etc). This is key because the province needs to hear from everybody that the program is desirable, as well as about the need to change features.  Some background commentary is attached in Mario Fraser’s work.

Apart from that, you can join Ecology Ottawa and one of several co-op ventures that are planning to build projects. There is also a Kanata renewable cluster of activists (just ordinary people) who meet to talk about sustainable energy lifestyles and how we can bring this concept into our neighbourhood."

How I think my best efforts to contribute to this project could be.

There are many ways I can contribute to the renewable energy initiative.Firstly, I can make people aware of this initiative.  I can talk to my friends(adult), family and neighbours about how they themselves should/can join this project/initiative (I myself am to young, with not nearly enough money, to join in on this initiative).  In this way, the awareness around the initiative will sprout. Secondly,  I can become actively involved in the initiative.  Particularly, I can, as Graham said, join a cluster of activists (ordinary people such as myself) who meet together and talk about sustainable energy lifestyles and how we would/could bring the initative into local neighbourhoods. Consequently, this give the initiative actual headcount to push the initiative forward.  As it is said, one person can make a difference.  Lastly, I can lobby the government.  Specifically, I can help bring awareness that we lag behind in the international green initiative by limiting the market penetration of renewables to about 7 %; most countries are triple that limit.  By doing so, this may convince politicians to raise the limit and expand the green initiave. To sum up, there are many different avenues to help support the renewable energy initiative.
